A heat shield (1) for an exhaust system (10) of a vehicle includes a resinified spaced layer fabric (20) having at least one inner layer (21), at least one outer layer (22), and at least one spacer (23) between the inner layer or layers and the outer layer or layers to form one or more insulative spaces (24). The heat shield includes an emissivity reducing material. The insulative space is between about one and about eight millimeters thick, to reduce convective heat transfer.

Un écran thermique (1) pour système d'échappement (10) de véhicule, comporte un tissu résinifié (20) à couches espacées dont au moins une couche intérieure (21), au moins une couche extérieure (22) et au moins un séparateur (23) entre les couches, de sorte qu'un ou plusieurs espaces isolants (24) soient formés. Ledit écran est constitué d'une matière réduisant l'émissivité. L'épaisseur de l'espace isolant est comprise entre environ un et huit millimètre, de manière que le transfert de chaleur par convection soit réduit.
