Insulin derivatives in which a lipophilic group having from 12 to 40 carbon atoms is attached to the .alpha.-amino group of the N-terminal amino acid in the B-chain or to the carboxy group of the C-terminal amino acid in the B- chain have a protracted profile of action.

L'invention concerne des dérivés de l'insuline dans lesquels un groupe lipophile ayant entre 12 et 40 atomes de carbone est relié au groupe .alpha.-amino de l'acide aminé N-terminal à l'intérieur de la chaîne B, ou bien au groupe carboxy de l'acide aminé C-terminal à l'intérieur de la chaîne B. Les dérivés considérés présentent un profil d'action prolongée.
