ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE This relates to an intaglio printing plate of the type in which the image to be printed is engraved into one surface of the plate and the ink, sealant or other material to be printed is fed into the engraved image through the thickness of the plate by means of holes passing through the plate. A unique feature of the plate is that at least a part of the engraved printing surface is formed of a thin facing layer of resilient material. This resilient facing layer can take up irregularities in the surface being printed.
