ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE An intake and exhaust passage system in which an intake and an ex- haust manifold are so arranged that their intake distributing chamber and exhaust collection chamber are located at about the middle thereof to form a riser section having flanges for attachment by bolts to the side of an engine; the intake and exhaust passage system characterized by the fact that opposite sides of the riser section converge toward the engine at least in the regions which join the middle portion of the intake and exhaust system to the engine thereby to provide ready access to the bolts.
