An intake manifold for an internal combustion engine includes a rigid intake pipe having a flow-through passage, and an adjustment structure for adjusting the size of the flow-through passage. The adjustment structure is a check valve which opens only in direction of the internal combustion engine and includes a valve body and a valve seat which are movable relative to each other and are selectively interengageable for the closing of the flow-through passage. The check valve prevents a backflow of gases from the internal combustion engine into the intake manifold thereby increasing the engine's power output especially at low engine speeds.

Cette invention concerne un collecteur d'admission de moteur à combustion interne qui comprend un tuyau d'admission rigide dont la section de passage est réglable au moyen d'un organe approprié. Cet organe est un clapet de retenue qui s'ouvre seulement vers le moteur à combustion interne et qui comprend un obturateur et un siège d'obturateur mobiles l'un par rapport l'autre et que l'on peut réunir pour bloquer entièrement la section de passage. Ce clapet de retenue empêche les retours de gaz du moteur à combustion interne vers le collecteur d'admission, ce qui a pour effet d'augmenter la puissance du moteur en particulier à faibles régimes.
