An integral outboard bearing support for a gear reducer on a papermaking machine oscillating doctor. The bearing support rotatably supports a distal end of the gear reducer's drive shaft to reduce deflection andfatigue. The outboard support also aligns internal bearing supports with the outboard support to optimize performance by preventing current reducer shaft and support bearing failures.
