An integral polymer grid with a plurality of interconnected, oriented polyethylene terephthalate strands and an array of openings therein is made from a polyethylene terephthalate sheet-like starting material having holes or depressions therein that form the openings when the sheet-like material is uniaxially or biaxially stretched. The grid has a higher tensile strength to weight ratio and a higher creep reduced strength to weight ratio than corresponding ratios associated with a grid made from a non-polyethylene terephthalate starting material.
L'invention concerne une grille de polymère en un seul bloc, ayant une pluralité de brins de polyéthylène téréphtalate interconnectés et orientés et un agencement d'ouvertures dans ceux-ci, fabriquée à partir d'une matière première en feuille de polyéthylène téréphtalate pourvue de trous ou d'enfoncements dans celle-ci qui forment les ouvertures lorsque le matériau en feuille est étiré de manière uniaxiale ou biaxiale. La grille a un rapport entre la résistance à la traction et le poids et un rapport entre la résistance réduite au fluage et le poids supérieurs par rapport à des rapports correspondants associés à une grille fabriquée à partir d'une matière première qui n'est pas du polyéthylène téréphtalate.
