A combination B-pillar molding and belt-line window molding ( 10) for a motor vehicle door ( 12), and method for manufacturing the same. The molding comprises a main body (11) including a window sealing structure (30) and a mounting structure (50). The sealing structure is formed from a resilient material constructed and arranged to seal a belt-line gap between a motor vehicle door and a motor vehicle window. The mounting structure is constructed and arranged to mount the main body on a belt-line region of the motor vehicle door. The molding further includes a metal cover member (60) having an elongate first portion (112) with a channel configuration. The channel configuration of the first portion is flexible outwardly to receive a portion of the main body (112) and flexible inwardly to grippingly engage the portion of the main body in secured relation. The metal cover member (60) has an elongate second portion (114) integrally formed with the first portion ( 112) and extends laterally from the first portion (112). The second portion (114) is constructed and arranged to extend generally vertically and in overlying relation with respect to a B- pillar (116) of the motor vehicle door.

L'invention concerne une combinaison de moulure de montant central et de ceinture pour fenêtre (10) de porte d'automobile (12) et un procédé de fabrication correspondant. La moulure a un corps principal (11) qui comprend une structure de joint d'étanchéité pour fenêtre (30) et une structure de montage (50). La structure d'étanchéité est en matériau souple, conçue et disposée pour assurer l'étanchéité d'un espace dans la ligne de ceinture entre une porte et une fenêtre d'automobile. La structure de montage est conçue et disposée pour le montage du corps principal sur une zone de la ligne de ceinture de la porte d'automobile. La moulure comprend en outre un revêtement métallique (60) ayant une première partie allongée (112) en forme de C, laquelle est flexible vers l'extérieur pour recevoir une partie du corps principal (11) et flexible vers l'intérieur pour retenir effectivement cette partie du corps principal. Le revêtement métallique (60) a une seconde partie allongée (114) intégrée à la première partie (112), qui s'étend latéralement depuis ladite première partie (112). La seconde partie (114) est conçue et disposée pour s'étendre de manière généralement verticale et en recouvrement par rapport à un montant central (116) de la porte d'automobile.
