The present invention is directed to an integrated system for performing dispersion compensation on wavelength channels in WDM or DWDM transmissions. The system includes a tunable integrated dispersion compensation module (10) that performs chromatic dispersion compensation on wavelength channels in WDM or DWDM transmissions. The system includes a tunable integrated dispersion compensation module (10) that performs chromatic dispersion compensation and polarization mode dispersion compensation on each of the wavelength channels in the transmission. Feedback is used to adjust the tunable integrated dispersion compensation module (10) until receiver performance is optimized.

L'invention concerne un système intégré servant à compenser la dispersion de canaux de longueur d'onde dans les transmissions WDM et DWDM. Ce système comprend un module de compensation de dispersion intégré accordable qui soumet chaque canal de longueur d'onde à la fois à une compensation de dispersion chromatique et à une compensation de dispersion de polarisation de mode.
