A fixed wireless point-to-multipoint distribution network for providing seamless communication coverage to a plurality of subscribers that includes a plurality of base stations for providing wireless access to said subscribers; each base station having connectivity to one another on a first network layer via at least one of a number of IP and/or ATM switches, called IDCN switches; each IDCN switch having connectivity to another over a second network layer via a transport ring thereby enabling one user to communicate directly with another user in said first network layer, or externally of said first network layer via one of said IDCN switches. An integrated data centric network is provided that integrates voice, data and video services into a single network, defines user services by the end user by providing middleware to enable the end user to develop services and applications; and provides a carrier grade service with distributed networking and services.
L'invention concerne un réseau de distribution radio fixe point-à-multipoint, qui assure la couverture continue des communications pour une pluralité d'abonnés. Le réseau comprend une pluralité de stations de base, qui fournissent aux abonnés un accès radio au réseau. Toutes les stations de base peuvent être interconnectées sur une première couche du réseau via au moins un certain nombre de commutateurs IP et/ou ATM, appelés commutateurs IDCN ; et tous les commutateurs IDCN peuvent être interconnectés par une seconde couche du réseau via un anneau de transport. Un utilisateur peut ainsi communiquer soit directement avec un autre utilisateur à l'intérieur de la première couche du réseau, soit à l'extérieur de ladite première couche via l'un desdits commutateurs IDCN. L'invention concerne également un réseau de centre de données intégré (IDCN), qui comprend des services téléphoniques, des services de transmission de données et des services vidéo, intégrés en un seul réseau. Le réseau IDCN permet à l'utilisateur final de définir les services complémentaires qu'il souhaite utiliser en lui fournissant des logiciels standards personnalisés qui lui permettent de développer ses propres services et applications ; et il assure un service de qualité opérateur de réseau, avec mise en réseau et services distribués.
