A controller for a video surveillance camera enclosure including a method and apparatus for controlling a stepper motor by decoding a command for a specific camera action, setting the state of a state machine, and instructing a position control process and a speed control process based upon the state of the state machine. A drive signal is sent from said position control process to a motor current process and a phase control process to generate the current and phase signals to control the stepper motor. The stepper motor drive current is preferably a non-linear current. The speed control signal includes ramp up and ramp down speed control for gradually increasing motor speed and gradually decreasing motor speed, respectively. Another aspect of the invention detects a plurality of pan and/or tilt positions to reset the pan and/or tilt motor step count to a known count associated with a known location without the need to pan and/or tilt past a preselected home position. Another aspect controls a dome enclosure heater to operate over two different thermostat ranges to provide for manual de-fogging of the dome bubble.
La présente invention concerne un contrôleur pour enceinte caméra de surveillance vidéo, et notamment un procédé et un dispositif pour commander un moteur pas-à-pas par décodage d'une commande destinée à une action de caméra spécifique, par définition de l'état d'un automate fini, et par commande d'un processus de commande de position et d'un processus de commande de vitesse sur la base de l'état de l'automate fini. A cet effet, on envoie un signal de pilotage depuis ledit processus de commande de position à un processus de courant moteur et à un processus de commande de phase de façon à générer des signaux de courant et de phase capables de commander le moteur pas-à-pas. Ce courant de pilotage du moteur pas-à-pas est de préférence un courant non linéaire. Le signal de commande de vitesse comporte une commande de montée et de descente de vitesse permettant de faire monter et diminuer progressivement la vitesse du moteur. Un autre aspect de l'invention concerne la détection d'une pluralité de positions de panoramique horizontal et/ou d'inclinaison permettant de rappeler le nombre de pas de panoramique horizontal et/ou d'inclinaison du moteur pas-à-pas à un nombre connu associé à un emplacement connu sans avoir besoin de faire passer le panoramique et/ou l'inclinaison par une position de référence prédéfinie. Selon un autre aspect, l'invention concerne la commande d'un radiateur d'enceinte à dôme permettant de mettre en oeuvre dans deux plages différentes du thermostat de façon à commander un désembuage manuel de la coupole du dôme.
