An integrated system to provide both heat and electric power. The integrated, or cogeneration, system operates with an organic working fluid that circulates in a Rankine-type cycle, where the organic working fluid is superheated by a heat source, expanded through an involute spiral wrap (scroll) expander (301) such that the organic working fluid remains superheated through the expander, cooled in a condenser (302), and pressurized by a pump (303). Heat exchange loops within the system define hot water production capability for use in space heating (348) and domestic hot water (380), while the generator (305) is coupled to the scroll expander (301) to generate electricity.

L'invention concerne un système intégré permettant de produire à la fois de l'énergie thermique et de l'énergie électrique. Ce système intégré - ou de cogénération - fonctionne au moyen d'un fluide de travail organique circulant dans un cycle de type Rankine, ce fluide de travail organique étant surchauffé par une source de chaleur et étendu à travers un élargisseur (volute) (301) enroulé en spirale en développante, de sorte que le fluide de travail organique reste surchauffé à travers l'élargisseur.
