An integrated multiple cross-connect system (10) having remotely located components interconnected by integrated office links (34, 36, 40) is provided. The integrated office link (34, 36, 40) carry duplex transmission of an IOL-N signal of N multiplexed STS-1P optical signals at an OC-N rate, the STS-1P include data payload and overhead field. Fault coverage information in the IOL overhead field are monitored at selected points along a transmission path. Upon detecting a fault, all the monitors in the transmission path are enabled to monitor the IOL overhead fault coverage information to isolate the origin of the detected fault.
Système (10) à raccordements croisés à noeuds multiples intégrés, comportant des éléments éloignés interconnectés par un système intégré de bureautique (IOL) (34, 36, 40). Ce système de bureautique assure la transmission duplex d'un signal IOL-N de N signaux optiques de niveau STS-1P multiplexés à une vitesse OC-N, le niveau STS-1P incluant un champ de charge utile et un champ supplémentaire. Les données relatives à l'extension des dérangements dans le champ supplémentaire de l'IOL sont observées en certains points le long du cheminement de transmission. Lorsqu'un dérangement se manifeste, tous les organes de surveillance du cheminement de transmission entrent en fonction pour observer les données d'extension de dérangement de l'IOL supplémentaire, afin d'isoler l'origine du dérangement dépisté.
