ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE The photoscreen (32, 70 or 80) for making a halftone reproduction (50) from a photograph (30) is used in a process where the photograph 130) is placed in a reproducing position (16) relative to a reproducing apparatus (10) and the screen (32, 70 or 80) is interposed between the photo- graph (30) and the reproducing means of the reproducing apparatus (10) so that upon operation of the reproducing apparatus (10), a halftone reproduction (50) is created. The photoscreen (70 or 80) comprises a sheet of transparent material (78) having on the bottom surface (75) thereof an array of light modulating, varying density, light gray, vignetting dots 172 or 82) mixed with an array of light modulating white dots (74 or 84) preferably printed on the top surface (79) thereof.
