An oxygenated organic liquid product and a fuel gas are produced from a portion of synthesis gas comprising hydrogen, carbon monoxide, carbon dioxide, and sulfur-containing compounds in a integrated feed treatment and catalytic reaction system. To prevent catalyst poisoning, the sulfur-containing compounds in the reactor feed are absorbed in a liquid comprising the reactor product, and the resulting sulfur-containing liquid is regenerated by stripping with untreated synthesis gas from the reactor. Stripping offgas is combined with the remaining synthesis gas to provide a fuel gas product. A portion of the regenerated liquid is used as makeup to the absorber and the remainder is withdrawn as a liquid product. The method is particularly useful for integration with a combined cycle coal gasification system utilizing a gas turbine for electric power generation.
Un produit organique liquide oxygéné et un gaz combustible sont produits à partir d'une partie de gaz synthétique comprenant de l'hydrogène, du monoxyde de carbone, du bioxyde de carbone et des composés sulfureux dans un système intégré de traitement de la charge d'alimentation et de réaction catalytique. Pour empêcher qu'il y ait empoisonnement du catalyseur, les composés sulfurés compris dans la charge d'alimentation du réacteur sont adsorbés dans un liquide comprenant le produit du réacteur; le liquide à base de soufre ainsi obtenu est régénéré par désorption au moyen d'un gaz synthétique non traité provenant du réacteur. Le gaz de désorption est combiné au gaz synthétique restant pour donner un produit gazeux combustible. Une partie du liquide régénéré sert d'appoint pour l'adsorbeur et le reste est évacué sous forme de produit liquide. La méthode est particulièrement utile si l'on veut l'intégrer à un système de gazéification du charbon à cycle combiné utilisant une turbine à gaz comme source d'énergie électrique.
