A rotary union is integrated into the interior of a heavy-duty vehicle hub cap (104; 162; 214). The hub cap includes a cylindrical sidewall, and an outboard wall that is integrally formed with an outboard end of the sidewall, and which extends gen-erally perpendicular to the sidewall. The hub cap also includes a radially-extending flange (110) that is formed on an inboard end of the sidewall (106), which receives fasteners to mount the hub cap on a wheel hub (28). The sidewall and the outboard wall form an interior compartment (112) in the hub cap with a rotary union (102) mounted therein. The rotary union (102) is mounted on the inboard surface of the outboard wall of the hub cap and is in general axial alignment with an axial centerline (c) of a wheel end assembly, providing fluid communication from a tire inflation system to the tires of the vehicle.

Un raccord rotatif est intégré à lintérieur dun cache-moyeu (104; 162; 214) dun véhicule utilitaire lourd. Le cache-moyeu comprend une paroi latérale cylindrique, et une paroi extérieure qui fait partie intégrante dune extrémité extérieure de la paroi latérale, et qui sétend globalement perpendiculairement à la paroi latérale. Le cache-moyeu comprend également un rebord sétendant radialement (110) qui est formé sur une extrémité intérieure de la paroi latérale (106), qui reçoit des éléments de fixation pour monter le cache-moyeu sur un moyeu de roue (28). La paroi latérale et la paroi extérieure forment un compartiment intérieur (112) dans le cache-moyeu, un raccord rotatif (102) étant monté dans celui-ci. Le raccord rotatif (102) est monté sur la surface intérieure de la paroi extérieure du cache-moyeu et est globalement axialement aligné sur une ligne centrale axiale (c) dun ensemble dextrémité de roue, permettant une communication de fluide depuis un système de gonflage de pneu jusquaux pneus du véhicule.
