One or more monocular cues are extracted from an original image and combined to enhance depth effect. An original image is acquired and segmented into one or more objects. The objects are identified as being either in the foreground or the background, and an object of interest is identified. One or more depth cues are then extracted from the original image, including shading, brightness, blur and occlusion. The depth cues may be in the form of one or more intermediate images having an improved depth effect. The depth cues are then combined or applied to create an image with enhanced depth effect.
L'invention concerne un ou plusieurs repères monoculaires extraits d'une image originale et combinés pour améliorer l'effet de profondeur. On prend une image originale et on la segmente en un ou plusieurs objets. On identifie les objets comme étant soit au premier plan soit à l'arrière-plan, et on identifie un objet intéressant. On extrait alors un ou plusieurs repères de profondeur de l'image originale, y compris l'ombrage, la luminosité, le flou et l'occlusion. Les repères de profondeur peuvent se présenter sous la forme d'une ou plusieurs images intermédiaires possédant un effet de profondeur amélioré.
