The present invention relates to determining the geographic location of a mobile station in a mobile communications system. The object of the invention is to protect the integrity of the user of the mobile station, so as to prevent the location of the mobile station being established by an outsider against the will of the user. In this respect, an authorization check is carried out in conjuction with a request for determination of the geographical location of a mobile station. The geographical location is only determined when authorization is found for the mobile station to be located. This authorization control involves checking that the user of the mobile station has granted permission for the location of his mobile station MS to be determined on the part of an outsider. The authority check may also include the condition that only certain outsiders may be informed of the geographical location of the mobile station.
Cette invention a trait à la détermination de la position géographique d'une station mobile dans un système de communication mobile. Cette invention a pour but de protéger l'intégrité de l'utilisateur de la station mobile, afin d'empêcher qu'une tierce personne n'établisse la position de la station mobile en question contre la volonté de l'utilisateur. A cet effet, une vérification d'autorisation est effectuée en association avec une demande de détermination de la position géographique d'une station mobile. La position géographique en question est déterminée uniquement lorsqu'on peut établir qu'il existe une autorisation de localiser la station mobile. Ce contrôle d'autorisation implique de vérifier que l'utilisateur de la station mobile a bien accordé la permission à une tierce personne de déterminer la position de sa station mobile (MS). Cette vérification d'autorité peut également contenir une condition selon laquelle seules certaines personnes peuvent être informées de la position géographique de la station mobile.
