There is provided a method of interactive compression using multiple compression state information entries. The method comprises receiving a request for data from a communicating party; retrieving the data; identifying, for use in compressing the data, at least two compression state information entries shared between the parties to the communication; compressing the data with each of the at least two compression state information entries; determining, from the set of compression state information entries, a preferred compression state information entry that provides a greatest compression ratio; and transmitting the data, compressed in accordance with the preferred compression state information entry to the communicating party.
L'invention concerne un procédé de compression interactive faisant appel à une pluralité d'entrées d'information de mode de compression. Ce procédé consiste à recevoir une demande de données en provenance d'un interlocuteur, à extraire les données, à identifier au moins deux entrées d'information de mode de compression communes aux interlocuteurs à utiliser pour la compression des données, à compresser les données avec chacune des deux entrées d'information de mode de compression, à déterminer à partir de l'ensemble des entrées d'information de mode de compression, une entrée d'information de mode de compression préférée, qui offre le rapport de compression le plus élevé, et à transmettre les données compressées à l'interlocuteur conformément à l'entrée d'information de mode de compression préférée.
