ABSTRACT An Interactive Image Display System includes an image store, an electronic data projector, a presenter display unit, user input means and control means for selecting images to be displayed and selecting imaging manipulation options. The system accepts input in a standard printer output format and converts such data to format suitable for use with a data projector. The system stores images in compressed format in which the display lines of the images are indexed to permit image manipulation in compressed format. Textual notes may be associated with the images to be displayed. The image may be manipulated while projected. External hardware may be manipulated by the image display system.
