A teleconferencing system in which the video image of a subject in front of a selected background scene is extracted from that scene and transmitted to other locations where selected backgrounds are stored. By compositing the subject and background images (25) at each remote location, both image elements, being originals, will show no loss of detail when projected. For a front projection screen (29), the projector (27) is inhibited from illuminating a presenter (28).
L'invention concerne un système de téléconférence dans lequel l'image vidéo d'un sujet situé devant une scène d'arrière-plan choisie est extraite de ladite scène et transmise à d'autres lieux où des arrière-plans choisis sont stockés. Grâce à la composition du sujet avec les images d'arrière-plan (25) au niveau de chaque lieu à distance, les deux éléments d'image, tous deux des originaux, ne présentent pas de perte de détails lorsqu'ils sont projetés. Pour un écran de projection frontale (29), l'éclairage d'un présentateur (28) par le projecteur (27) est inhibé.
