ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A shoe in which the heel portion of the midsole is provided with tapered channel means and an interchangeable insert which comprises plug means for releasable interfitting attachment within the tapered channel means, the plug means being made of material of different resilience from that of the midsole so that the wearer may select a plug means of a given resilience for insertion within the channel means whereby to personalize cushioning of the shoe.
