Interference that occurs during wireless communication may be managed by reducing the power level of an overhead channel during a call. A method, apparatus and medium of communication determine an optimized reduced power level for an overhead channel of an unplanned access point to an associated access terminal during a call therebetween. The overhead channel is transmitted according to the optimized reduced power level resulting in a decrease in interference as seen by neighboring unplanned access points.

Une interférence qui survient durant une communication sans fil peut être gérée en réduisant le niveau de puissance d'un canal de surdébit durant un appel. Un procédé, un appareil et un support de communication déterminent un niveau de puissance réduit optimisé pour un canal de surdébit d'un point d'accès non planifié à un terminal d'accès associé durant un appel entre ces derniers. Le canal de surdébit est transmis selon le niveau de puissance réduit optimisé, entraînant une diminution des interférences telles qu'elles sont vues par des points d'accès non planifiés voisins.
