Use of an .alpha.-interferon composition in the manufacture of a medicament for reducing the recurrence of a resectable malignant tumor is described. Use of an .alpha.-interferon composition in the manufacture of a medicament for treating a human patient having a non-resectable malignant tumor also is described. An article of manufacture combines an .alpha.-interferon composition within a packaging material and a package label or insert indicating that administration of an immunostimulatory dosage of an .alpha.- interferon composition followed by surgical resection of a malignant tumor can be effective for treating a human patient having the malignant tumor.
L'invention concerne l'utilisation d'une composition d'alpha-interféron pour fabriquer un médicament destiné à réduire la récurrence d'une tumeur maligne résécable. L'invention concerne également l'utilisation d'une composition d'alpha-interféron pour fabriquer un médicament permettant de traiter un patient humain atteint d'une tumeur maligne non résécable. L'invention concerne en outre un article fabriqué renfermant une composition d'alpha-interféron à l'intérieur d'un matériau d'emballage, une étiquette ou un insert placé sur cet emballage indiquant que l'administration d'une dose immunostimulatrice de cette composition d'alpha-interféron, suivie d'une résection chirurgicale d'une tumeur maligne, permet de traiter efficacement un patient humain atteint de cette tumeur maligne.
