An interior trim component (10) is formed utilizing an injection molding apparatus having first (12) and second (14) molds. The component includes a laminate (16) and a polymer (18). The laminate (16) includes a face layer (20) having a finished (26) and unfinished (28) side, an adhesive layer (22) bonded to the unfinished side (28), and a barrier (24) bonded to the adhesive layer (22). The barrier (24) includes a non-woven textile weighing at least 80 g/m2. The laminate (16) is positioned in the first mold (12) such that the barrier (24) is exposed to face the second mold (14). The apparatus is moved into a closed position and a cavity (30) is established between the barrier (24) and the second mold (14). The polymer (18) is injected into the cavity (30) at a pressure of at least 500 psi. The polymer reacts with the barrier (24) to bond the laminate (16) to the polymer (18) and to form the interior trim component (10) without the polymer (18) penetrating through the barrier (24) and into the face layer (20).

Selon l'invention, un composant (10) de garniture intérieure est mis en forme au moyen d'un appareil de moulage par injection présentant des premier (12) et second (14) moules. Ledit composant comprend un stratifié (16) et un polymère (18). Ledit stratifié présente : une couche faciale (20) présentant un côté fini (26) et un côté non fini (28) ; une couche adhésive (22) liée au côté non fini (28) ; et une barrière (24) liée à la couche adhésive (22). La barrière (24) comporte un tissu façonné ayant un poids supérieur ou égal à 80g/m2. Ledit stratifié (16) est positionné dans le premier moule (12) de sorte que la barrière (24) soit exposée face au second moule (14). Ledit appareil est amené dans une position fermée et une cavité (30) est formé entre la barrière (24) et le second moule. Le polymère (18) est injecté dans la cavité (30) à une pression d'au moins 500 psi. Le polymère réagit avec la barrière (24) pour fixer le stratifié (16) au polymère (18) et pour former le composant (10) de garniture intérieure sans que pour autant le polymère (18) pénètre à travers la barrière (24) et dans la couche facial (20).
