A stacker adapted to generally stack product in a vertical fashion is provided. The stacker includes a first generally vertical conveyor having a first conveyor belt and a first plurality of flights mounted generally perpendicularly to the first conveyor belt. The first plurality of flights at least partially defines a plurality of stacking platforms. At least one positioning sensor for sensing a relative position of the flights is provided. An advancement sensor is provided for sensing product entering the stacker. A first drive incrementally drives the first conveyor responsive to the advancement sensor so that the stacking platforms descend. Each of the stacking platforms can receive individual or single items to be stacked into a tray or can sequentially receive multiple items, either pre-stacked or stacked on a given flight , and then be indexed downwardly to allow the next stack to be formed on the subsequent stacking platform. A method and system for handling and stacking products is also provided.
L'invention concerne un élévateur d'empilage conçu pour empiler généralement un produit de façon verticale. L'élévateur d'empilage comprend un premier transporteur généralement vertical ayant une première bande transporteuse et une première pluralité de palettes montées généralement perpendiculairement à la première bande transporteuse. La première pluralité de palettes définit au moins partiellement une pluralité de plates-formes d'empilement. L'invention concerne également au moins un capteur de positionnement permettant de détecter une position relative des palettes. L'invention concerne en outre un détecteur d'avancement servant à détecter un produit arrivant dans l'élévateur d'empilage. Un premier entraînement entraîne de façon incrémentielle la première bande transporteuse sensible au détecteur d'avancement de façon que les plates-formes d'empilage descendent. Chaque plate-forme d'empilage peut recevoir des articles individuels ou uniques destinés à être empilés pour former un plateau ou peuvent recevoir séquentiellement des articles multiples, soit préalablement empilés, soit empilés sur une palette donnée, puis être indexée de haut en bas de façon que la pile suivante puisse être formée sur la plate-forme d'empilement suivante. L'invention concerne enfin un procédé et un système permettant de manipuler et d'empiler des produits.
