The invention relates to an internal refractory coating for a gasifier, which is made from a sintered material comprising: at least 45 wt.- % chromium oxide (Cr2O3) and at least 1 wt.- % zirconium oxide (ZrO2), of which at least 20 wt.- % is stabilised in cubic and/or quadratic form.
