An internal coiled tubing connector for connecting a first length (10) of coiled tubing to a second length (14) of coiled tubing includes a cylindrical body (18) having a longitudinal bore (20) therethrough and adapted to be inserted into the first length (10) and the second length (14) of coiled tubing; a by-pass passageway (34) extending from a first opening (32) in a longitudinal outer surface of the cylindrical body (18) to a second opening (32) in the longitudinal outer surface of the cylindrical body (18); and elastomeric seals (28) mounted to the longitudinal outer surface of the cylindrical body (18) adjacent the first opening (32) and the second opening (32). When the first opening (32) is placed in communication with a passageway (16) whithin the wall of the first length (10) of coiled tubing and when the second opening (32) is placed in communication with a passageway (16) within a wall of the second length (14) of coiled tubing a communication by-pass is established across the connection of the first (10) and the second (14) length of coiled tubing.

La présente invention concerne un raccord interne pour flexibles spiralés. Ce raccord permet de raccorder une première longueur (10) de flexible spiralé à une seconde longueur (14) de flexible spiralé. Constitué d'un corps cylindrique (18) présentant un alésage (20) longitudinal sur toute sa longueur, ce raccord est conçu pour s'introduire dans la première longueur (10) et dans la seconde longueur (14) de flexible spiralé. Un passage de dérivation (34) assure une jonction entre un premier orifice (32) pratiqué dans une surface longitudinale externe du corps cylindrique (18) et un second orifice pratiqué dans une surface longitudinale externe du corps cylindrique. Des joints élastomères (28) garnissent la surface longitudinale externe du corps cylindrique (18) au voisinage du premier orifice (32) et du second orifice (32). La mise en communication du premier orifice (32) avec un passage (16) ménagé dans la paroi de la première longueur (10) de flexible spiralé, et la mise en communication du second orifice (32) avec un passage (16) ménagé dans la paroi de la seconde longueur (14) de flexible spiralé permettent d'établir un passage de dérivation sur toute la longueur du raccord entre la première (10) et la seconde (14) longueur de flexible spiralé.
