An optical recording and data processing system for exposing an image on to a flexible, light sensitive medium, which includes a medium holder having an inner cylindrical wall portion against which is held said medium, and a light source having an approximately rectangular emitting aperture, with a short aperture axis and a long aperture axis, operative to emit a beam of light having a rectangular cross section with a long axis corresponding to the long aperture axis and a short axis corresponding to the short aperture axis. An optical modulator is aligned with the light source so as to intercept light from the beam of light and produce a spatial modulation pattern across the long axis of the beam of light.

L'invention concerne un système d'enregistrement optique et de traitement de données destiné à exposer une image sur un support flexible sensible à la lumière. Ce système comporte un porte-support pourvu d'une partie de paroi cylindrique contre laquelle est maintenu ledit support et une source de lumière présentant une ouverture émettrice à peu près rectangulaire pourvue d'un axe d'ouverture court et d'un axe d'ouverture long, ladite ouverture émettrice servant à émettre un faisceau de lumière présentant une section transversale rectangulaire pourvue d'un axe long correspondant à l'axe d'ouverture long et d'un axe court correspondant à l'axe d'ouverture court. Un modulateur optique est aligné sur la source de lumière afin d'intercepter la lumière du faisceau et de produire un motif de modulation spatiale à travers l'axe long du faisceau de lumière.
