ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A method and apparatus is described for cleaning the inside of long, cylindrical chambers, the apparatus comprising a rotatable scouring head driven by a motor and an inflatable collar surrounding the motor. As the head rotates, scale rust and other debris is scoured from the surface of the chamber. Pressurized air applied to the rearward side of the apparatus propels the apparatus through the chamber and inflates the collar to a pressure such that frictional force between the chamber and the collar provides the reaction force to the rotation of the head but permits translation of the apparatus along the chamber.
