ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A support system for supporting trays, headers, mist eliminators, and the like within an absorber tower where flue gas is cleaned before being discharged into the atmosphere. These trays, headers, mist eliminators, and the like are suspended from the upper outlet of the tower by a series of hangers that are connected to upper truss members which span across the flue gas outlet. These various components within the tower are supported, in series, such that a lower component is suspended from an upper one, thus, those components at lower elevations are supported from those at a higher elevation.
