An internal thread forming apparatus is used to form an internal thread in a nut blank and includes a machine base which has a rear end that is provided with a gate, and a guide channel which is mounted on the machine base and which has an open rear end that is aligned with the gate, an open front end, and a radial inlet formed adjacent to the open front end to permit the passage of a nut blank therein. A spindle has a front end that is provided with a tap and that extends through the gate and into the guide channel. An end seat is disposed adjacent to the rear end of the machine base and is formed with an axial passage that is aligned axially with the spindle. The end seat has a front end that is provided with a rotatable chuck. A push rod is extended into the guide channel via the open front end so as to push the nut blank toward the spindle and so as to push the spindle to extend into the chuck in order to enable the latter to clamp releasably and drive rotatably the spindle to commence threading of the nut blank. The push rod is retracted from the guide channel after threading of the nut blank to produce a formed nut has been accomplished. A push pin is employed so as to push the spindle away from the chuck and cause movement of the formed nut from the spindle to the push pin, and is retracted into the axial passage so as to remove the formed nut therefrom.

Cette invention concerne un appareil à tarauder servant à tailler le filetage intérieur d'un écrou et comportant une base dont l'arrière comprend une porte ainsi qu'un canal de guidage qui présente un bout arrière ouvert aligné sur la porte, un bout avant ouvert et une entrée radiale ménagée près du bout avant ouvert pour permettre le passage des ébauches d'écrous. Une broche porte à son extrémité avant un taraud qui se prolonge à travers la porte jusque dans le canal de guidage. Une crapaudine est disposée près de l'arrière de la base et comporte une ouverture axiale dans le prolongement de la broche. La crapaudine porte du côté avant un mandrin rotatif. Un poussoir passe dans le canal de guidage via l'extrémité avant ouverte pour faire avancer l'ébauche vers la broche et la broche à l'intérieur du mandrin rotatif pour assurer l'entraînement de la broche après serrage du mandrin pour amorcer le taraudage de l'ébauche. Une fois le taraudage terminé, le poussoir est retiré du canal de guidage. Une goupille-poussoir sert à repousser la broche pour l'éloigner du mandrin et assurer le passage de l'écrou de la broche à la goupille-poussoir en vue de son extraction une fois l'opération de taraudage terminée.
