The hollow tubular implant, according to the invention, has an internal cavity (1) delineated by a peripheral wall (2) open at its first extremity (3) and including an external surface (4) with a generally circular cross-section. Two sides (5, 6) are full, and two upper and lower surfaces (7, 8) are fitted with communication lights (9, 10, 11, 12). External annular ribs (13, 14, 16) prevent the insert fitted between two adjacent vertebrae from moving back or rotating. The implant provides good attachment of the two vertebrae, and fuses them through a bone graft fitted into the implant before it is inserted.
