A percutaneous and minimally invasive instrument system for implanting an interspinous process spacer into a pa-tient is disclosed. The insertion instrument system includes an inserter and a driver. The inserter is configured to releasably clamp to an interspinous process spacer for its delivery, implantation and deployment. The driver is configured for removable insertion into a proximal end of a passageway of the inserter. The driver has a distal spacer engaging portion configured to engage that part of the spacer requiring activation for the deployment of the spacer from at least one undeployed configuration to at least one de-ployed configuration and vice versa. As the spacer goes from the undeployed to the deployed configuration and vice versa, the system advantageously provides a degree of deployment information to the user via at least one deployment indicator.
Linvention se rapporte à un système à instrument percutané et minimalement invasif servant à implanter un écarteur dapophyse épineuse chez un patient. Le système à instrument dinsertion comprend un organe dinsertion et un organe dentraînement. Lorgane dinsertion est conçu pour se fixer de manière détachable à un écarteur dapophyse épineuse pour sa mise en place, son implantation et son déploiement. Lorgane dentraînement est conçu pour linsertion amovible dans une extrémité proximale dun passage de lorgane dinsertion. Lorgane dentraînement comporte une partie distale de mise en prise décarteur conçue pour mettre en prise la partie de lécarteur nécessitant lactivation pour le déploiement de lécarteur depuis au moins une configuration non déployée à au moins une configuration déployée et vice versa. Lorsque lécarteur passe de la configuration non déployée à la configuration déployée et vice versa, le système fournit avantageusement un degré dinformations de déploiement à lutilisateur par lintermédiaire dau moins un indicateur de déploiement.
