Implantable devices are provided for stabilizing adjacent vertebrae and the lumbosacral region of a patient. The devices can comprise an interspinous flexible spacer body (12) having a substantially U-shape comprising a superior section (34) , inferior section (32) , and a midsection (30) extending therebetween. The superior and/or inferior sections can include a pair of lateral walls (36) configured to engage a spinous process of a vertebra. Fixation caps can be provided for securing a spinous process of a vertebra to the flexible spacer body. To secure the flexible spacer body between the lumbar vertebra and an adjacent vertebra, an anchor assembly (14) is provided. Also provided are methods of using the implantable devices to stabilize a patient's spine.
L'invention concerne des dispositifs implantables destinés à stabiliser des vertèbres adjacentes et la région lombo-sacrée d'un patient. Lesdits dispositifs peuvent comprendre un corps écarteur flexible interépineux sensiblement en forme de U, comprenant une section supérieure, une section inférieure et une section médiane s'étendent entre les deux précédentes. La section supérieure et/ou la section inférieure peuvent comprendre une paire de parois latérales configurées de manière à entrer dans une apophyse épineuse de vertèbre. Des capuchons de fixation peuvent être prévus pour fixer une apophyse épineuse de vertèbre sur le corps écarteur flexible. Un système d'ancrage est prévu pour fixer le corps écarteur flexible entre la vertèbre lombaire et une vertèbre adjacente. L'invention concerne par ailleurs des procédés permettant d'utiliser les dispositifs implantables, pour stabiliser le rachis d'un patient.
