The present invention concerns as intervertebral disc prosthesis designed to be substituted for fibrocartilaginous discs ensuring connection between the vertebra of the vertebra column or the end of the latter. The invention increases stability of such a prosthesis by providing a translation or rotation stop to its nucleus (2), or inducing an angular correction between its plates (1, 3) in contact with vertebra, or a combination of these characteristics. Such a stop is obtained by parts (6, 20) external to the nucleus, and using contact surfaces perpendicular to their contact directions. Such a stop allow a better stability together with the enforcement of such an angular correction, induced by an angle (A3) between loadbearing surfaces (21, 23) of the nucleus.
La présente invention concerne une prothèse de disque intervertébral conçue pour remplacer des disques fibrocartilagineux assurant la liaison entre des vertèbres de la colonne vertébrale ou entre une vertèbre et l'extrémité de celle-ci. Grâce à l'invention, la stabilité d'une telle prothèse est augmentée par le fait que son noyau (2) est bloqué en translation ou en rotation, ou bien qu'une correction angulaire est induite entre ses plaques (1, 3) en contact avec les vertèbres, ou bien grace à une combinaison de ces caractéristiques. Un tel blocage du noyau est obtenu au moyen de parties (6, 20) externes au noyau et grâce à l'utilisation de surfaces de contact perpendiculaires à leur sens de contact. Un tel blocage offre, avec une telle correction angulaire, une meilleure stabilité, cette correction étant induite par un angle (A3) compris entre les surfaces (21, 23) porteuses de charge du noyau.
