The invention relates to an intervertebral implant for insertion between two vertebral bodies of a spinal column, comprising a body containing two contact faces, whereby one of the bodies is designed as a hollow body, and the hollow body is formed by a side wall which has a convexly curved longitudinal side wall and a concavely curved longitudinal side wall as well as two convexly curved lateral side walls connecting the two longitudinal side walls with each other, whereby the radii of curvature of the lateral side walls are smaller than the radii of curvature of the longitudinal side walls.
