ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE An active intra-uterine device including a hydrophobic substrate of high mechanical resiliency having, within the volume thereof, inclusions of polymerized hydrophilic substances, grafted on the hydrophobic substrate and cross-linked, in which water-soluble chemical agents have been stored previously; the agents are adapted to perfuse through the hydrophobic substrate when the latter is placed in an aqueous medium.
