The present invention relates generally to medical devices and is particularly directed to a fluid dispensing device and a fluid sampling device of the type which, in one embodiment penetrates the stratum corneum and epidermis, but not into the dermis of skin, and in another embodiment penetrates into the dermis so as to interface with blood or other biological fluids. The invention is specifically disclosed as an array of microneedles which painlessly and with minimal trauma to the skin enable fluid transfer either into a body as a dispensing device, or from the body to sample body fluid.

L'invention concerne, d'une manière générale, les dispositifs médicaux et, plus particulièrement un dispositif d'administration de fluide et un dispositif de prélèvement de fluide du même type. Dans un mode de réalisation, ledit dispositif pénètre dans la stratum corneum et dans l'épiderme, mais il ne touche pas le derme de la peau. Dans un autre mode de réalisation, le dispositif pénètre dans le derme de manière entrer en contact avec le sang ou avec d'autres fluides biologiques. L'invention concerne tout particulièrement un jeu de microaiguilles permettant de transférer des fluides dans le corps, tel qu'un dispositif d'administration ou de prélever des fluides dans le corps afin de prélever un échantillon de fluide organique, ceci sans douleur et sans trauma pour la peau.
