This invention is a tranfer device (12) and catheter assembly (14, 16) for the delivery of treatment elements (unnumbered) to a selected location within the intraluminal passageways of a patient as part of an intraluminal radiation system. The transfer device (12) includes a gate member (98) that permits the treatment elements to leave the transfer device (12) only if the catheter (14) is attached thereto. A pressure indicator (314) provides a visual indication of the fluid pressure within the transfer device, and provides for a release of the fluid if the pressure exceeds a predetermined pressure. The catheter (14) also includes decent (350) to secure it to the transfer device (12), and which must be manually activated to remove the catheter (14) from the transfer device (12).

L'invention concerne un dispositif de transfert (12) et un ensemble cathéter (14, 16) permettant d'administrer des éléments thérapeutiques à un patient, au niveau d'un emplacement choisi à l'intérieur d'un passage endoluminal, et faisant partie d'un système d'irradiation endoluminale. Le dispositif de transfert (12) comporte un élément doigt (98) qui permet aux éléments thérapeutiques de sortir dudit dispositif (12) seulement si le cathéter (14) y est fixé. Un manomètre (314) donne une indication visuelle de la pression fluidique à l'intérieur du dispositif de transfert et permet d'évacuer du fluide si la pression dépasse une pression prédéterminée. Le cathéter (14) comporte également un cliquet (350) qui permet de le fixer sur le dispositif de transfert (12) et que l'on doit actionner manuellement pour sortir le cathéter (14) dudit dispositif (12).
