Disclosed is an intramedullary nail (1) that is made of a metal or a metal alloy and comprises a longitudinal axis (4), a connecting part (2) whose cross section has an orthogonal profile F in relation to the longitudinal axis (4), and a shaft part (3) which is to be inserted into the medulla and whose cross section has an orthogonal profile f < F in relation to the longitudinal axis. The metal or the metal alloy of the shaft part (3) is provided with greater mechanical stiffness than the metal or the metal alloy of the connecting part (2).
