Abstract of the Disclosure The intraocular implant has a solid, non-inflatable, non-expandable, transparent optic member and an expandable haptic means coupled to the outer periphery of the optic. The haptic means is expandable after insertion into the eye, in a first embodiment, by externally injected fluid, and in a second embodiment, by liquid from the aqueous of the eye. In the first embodiment the haptic means is inflatable. In the second embodiment the haptic means is formed of a material capable of combining with or taking up liquid from the aqueous of the eye resulting in expansion of the haptic means.
