A device and method for treating female urinary incontinence is provided. A device in accordance with the invention includes a sheath (22) having a distal portion (26), a proximal portion (24), and a lumen (30) extending therebetween. A distal member (50) is elastically hinged (62) to the distal portion (26) of the sheath (22). A flow control valve unit (40) is disposed within a lumen (30) of the sheath (22). The distal member (50) may be urged into axial alignment with the sheath (22), and the device may be inserted into a female urethra, the distal member (50) will return to a position which is not in axial alignment with the sheath (22).
La présente invention concerne un dispositif et un procédé destinés au traitement de l'incontinence urinaire féminine. Le dispositif, selon l'invention, comprend une gaine (22) possédant une portion distale (26), une portion proximale (24), et une lumière (30) s'étendant entre elles. Un élément distal (50) est placé, de manière élastique, en charnière (62) à la portion distale (26) de la gaine (22). Une vanne de commande d'écoulement (40) est placé dans une lumière (30) de la gaine (22).
