An introducer (12) and hemostatic valve (14) for improved torsional guidance and kink resistance includes an entirely circumferentially reinforced introducer (12) connected directly to a valve body formed of a plurality of separable portions (38, 40) and housing a valve element (91, 93) in a central chamber thereof. The plurality of portions may be attached to the introducer during formation of the introducer, the valve body, or both. Alternatively, the plurality of portions (38, 40) may be attached to the introducer by assembly of the portions together in a surrounding relation to the introducer. In use, the plurality of portions are separated from each other and the introducer is cut along its length in order to withdraw the introducer and hemostatic valve over an enlarged proximal end of an access device as the introducer is pulled from the patient~s body.
L'invention concerne un ensemble introducteur et valve hémostatique conçu pour améliorer le guidage en torsion et la résistance à la déformation locale. Cet ensemble comprend un introducteur renforcé sur toute sa circonférence et connecté directement à un corps de valve formé d'une pluralité de sections séparables, ce corps de valve comprenant une chambre centrale dans laquelle est logé un élément de valve. La pluralité de sections peut être fixée à l'introducteur pendant la formation de ce dernier et/ou du corps de valve. Dans une variante, la pluralité de sections peut être fixée à l'introducteur par assemblage des sections les unes aux autres autour de l'introducteur. Lors de l'utilisation, les différentes sections sont séparées les unes des autres et l'introducteur est découpé sur sa longueur afin de retirer l'introducteur et la valve hémostatique sur une extrémité proximale élargie d'un dispositif d'accès lorsque l'introducteur est sorti du corps du patient.
