A device for introducing an embolic coil into a catheter comprises an elongated body defining a longitudinal passage extending therethrough from a first opening at a proximal end thereof to a second opening at a distal end thereof. The elongated body includes a mating portion for conforming to a size and shape of an opening in a hub of a catheter to mate therewith and an embolic coil introducer sheath including a coil receiving lumen extending therethrough. A distal tip of the introducer sheath is dimensioned to be received within a proximal end of the longitudinal passage.

L'invention porte sur un dispositif d'introduction d'une spire métallique pour embollisation dans un cathéter, comprenant un corps allongé définissant un passage longitudinal qui s'étend à travers d'une première ouverture au niveau d'une extrémité proximale vers une seconde ouverture au niveau d'une extrémité distale. Le corps allongé comprend une partie d'accouplement afin d'adapter une dimension et une forme d'une ouverture dans un embout d'un cathéter afin de s'accoupler, ainsi qu'une gaine d'introduction de spire métallique pour embollisation comprenant une lumière de réception de spire s'étendant à travers. Une extrémité distale de la gaine d'introduction est dimensionnée de manière à être reçue dans une extrémité proximale du passage longitudinal.
