A B S T R A C T O F T H E I N V E N T I O N INVALID HOISTS A mobile invalid hoist comprises a lifting arm 1 projecting from an upstanding support column 2 mounted on a mobile chassis 3,4,5. The chassis comprises a main portion 3 supporting the column 2 and two chassis side members 4 and 5 which are pivotally mounted on the portion 3. Two coaxial fixed-axis wheels 6,7 support the chassis portion 3 and the side members 4,5 project forwardly from the portion 3 and have front support castors 8.
