A Package counting scale is a counting strip used to determine both the total number and the classification -according to brand, size and/or price -of a single stack of items (such as cigarette packs) that are stacked on a flat surface (such as a shelf). The Strip comprises a main section and a tab section. The main section comprises a plurality of identical demarcations that bear a sequential series of integer numerals. The numeral on each demarcation represents the total number of packages in a single stack. The distinctive colour and/or font of the numerals from one type of strips to another indicate the classification of that stack. The tab section is a single demarcation located on one end of the strip. The tab demarcation is coloured and indicates both the maximum number and the classification of the packages on that counting strip when all other demarcations numerals are covered by packages.
