ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A need exists for the simple, easy production of a low distortion sinusoidal (AC) power output from a DC power source. This need is met by an inverter apparatus including a power inverter for receiving DC power from a source thereof and for producing an AC power output, a filter for receiving the AC power output and reducing the harmonic content thereof at frequencies above a desired fundamental frequency, a digital, real time, sinusoidal wave pulse modulation control connected to the power inverter for controlling the nature of the AC power output, and separate voltage and current comparators for sampling the AC power output and providing digital signals to the control for digital control of the AC power output of the power inverter.
