An iodine/iodide-containing hot melt coatable adhesive is provided. This adhesive is prepared by mixing iodine and an iodide salt, individually or in combination, with solubilizing liquids. The iodine and iodide salt are combined with a pre-adhesive composition in a hot melt mixer, with an iodine/iodide complexing agent being present in the mixture. The mixture is mixed at a temperature from about 130 ~ C. to about 200 ~ C. and sufficiently to form an iodine/iodide-containing hot melt coatable adhesive. Alternatively, the iodide may be generated in situ. The adhesive so prepared may be packaged for coating on a substrate at a later time, or may be immediately coated to form an adhesive composite. Adhesive composites, particularly surgical incise drapes, are provided incorporating this hot melt coatable adhesive.
L'invention concerne un adhésif pouvant être enduit thermofusible contenant de l'iode/iodure. Cet adhésif est préparé par mélange d'iode et d'un sel d'iodure, individuellement ou combinés, avec des liquides de solubilisation. L'iode et le sel d'iodure sont combinés à une composition pré-adhésive dans un dispositif de mélange par thermofusion, un agent complexant d'iode/iodure étant présent dans le mélange. Ce mélange est mélangé à une température comprise entre environ 130 ·C et environ 200 ·C, et suffisamment pour former un adhésif pouvant être enduit thermofusible contenant de l'iode/iodure. Dans un mode de réalisation différent, l'iodure peut être produit in situ. L'adhésif ainsi préparé peut être conditionné pour enduction ultérieure sur un substrat, ou peut être enduit immédiatement pour former un matériau composite adhésif. L'invention concerne également des matériaux composites adhésifs, plus spécifiquement des champs à inciser chirurgicaux, qui contiennent cet adhésif pouvant être enduit thermofusible.
