Apparatus for inserting intraocular lenses (IOLs) into eyes include a hollow tube including a material and having an interior wall defining a hollow space through which an IOL is passed and an outlet through which the IOL is passed from the hollow space into an eye, and a water soluble lubricity enhancing component physically secured to said hollow tube and concentrated at or near the interior wall in an amount effective to facilitate the passage of the IOL through the hollow space.

L'invention concerne un appareil permettant d'implanter dans l'oeil des lentilles intraoculaires (LIO), qui comporte un tube creux comprenant une matière et doté d'une paroi intérieure. Cette dernière définit un espace creux par lequel on fait passer une LIO et une sortie à travers laquelle on fait passer la LIO de l'espace creux à l'intérieur de l'oeil. L'appareil comporte également un composant hydrosoluble améliorant le pouvoir lubrifiant, qui est physiquement fixé audit tube creux et concentré à l'emplacement ou à proximité de la paroi intérieure en quantité suffisante pour faciliter le passage de la LIO à travers l'espace creux.
